If you’re planning a destination wedding in Lake Como, Villa Pizzo might be perfect for you! This breathtaking historic villa has stolen my heart (and camera lens) countless times over the years. As an Italian wedding photographer, I have photographed many celebrations in Lake Como and know the best venues Italy has to offer. Villa Pizzo stands out as a truly special location for your perfect wedding day.

Why Villa Pizzo Has My Photographer’s Heart
Built in the 15th century, this gem boasts the longest lakefront garden on Como, stretching between charming Cernobbio and Moltrasio. Just a 10-minute drive from Como city, it’s convenient for guests while still feeling like your private Italian paradise.
The magic of Villa Pizzo is its versatility. One moment you’re exchanging vows on the Darsena (a jaw-dropping stone terrace directly on the water), and the next you’re sipping Prosecco in the elegant Italian Garden surrounded by centuries of history. The beautiful gardens, warm ochre color of the villa and the intricate artwork inside are next to none.

This Villa Pizzo Wedding Vibe Is Perfect For…
You’ll fall head over heels for a Villa Pizzo wedding if you’re into:
- Timeless & Classic Vibes: Historical elegance that blends with modern wedding themes
- Italian Culture & Architecture: From frescoed ceilings to classical gardens
- Natural Beauty Meets Luxury: Waterfront views paired with impeccable historic details
- Exclusive, Private Celebrations: Your own slice of Italian paradise
The venue comfortably hosts up to 150 guests outdoors and up to 120 guests indoors across four connected halls.

My Favorite Spots to Capture Villa Pizzo Magic
These photo spots create pure enchantment:
- The Darsena: This stone terrace extending into the water creates dramatic portraits, especially during golden hour.
- The Italian Garden: With its majestic camphor tree and geometric pathways, it gives those classic Italian garden vibes.
- The Historic Villa Interior: Those frescoed ceilings, ornate furniture, and massive windows with water views work in any weather.

One of my favorite moments to capture at Villa Pizzo? When couples take a private boat ride for their portraits. We get to cruise along Lake Como with the villa and shoreline behind you — and the photos from the water are always some of the most unique and breathtaking of the day.

All About the Gorgeous Spaces
Ceremony Spots:
- The Darsena – that incredible waterfront terrace
- The Garden of the Eye – romantic garden setting
- The private Orangerie Garden – intimate and sheltered

Reception Areas:
- The Court of the villa for outdoor dining (up to 150 guests)
- The Muggiasca Hall – largest indoor space (seats 60)
- Three additional halls for smaller groups

Good-to-Know Details:
- Available April through October (no heating indoors)
- Music outdoors until 11:00 PM, can continue indoors
- No on-site accommodation, but luxury hotels within 10 minutes
- Bridal suite available for day-of preparations

Your Villa Pizzo Questions, Answered!
How far in advance should we book Villa Pizzo?
For peak season (June-September), I’d recommend securing your date at least 12-18 months in advance. This gem is in high demand, especially for weekend dates! For April, May, and October, 8-12 months advance booking is typically enough. But honestly? If you’ve fallen in love with Villa Pizzo, lock it in as soon as possible!

Can we create a multi-day Como experience?
Absolutely! While you can’t stay overnight at Villa Pizzo itself, many of my couples create wonderful multi-day celebrations. Host a welcome dinner at a nearby restaurant, your main Villa Pizzo wedding day, and then a farewell brunch at one of Como’s luxury hotels. Your guests will love the comprehensive Italian experience!

What if rain crashes our Como party?
Don’t stress! Villa Pizzo has gorgeous indoor alternatives with those same stunning views. The four connected halls can accommodate ceremonies and receptions for up to 120 guests. For larger celebrations, a temporary structure in the courtyard works beautifully. As your photographer, I’m well-versed in capturing beautiful rainy day images that still showcase the setting’s charm – sometimes with even more romantic results!

Ready to Create Your Villa Pizzo Wedding Story?
A Villa Pizzo wedding combines historical Italian charm with Como’s natural beauty to create an unforgettable destination experience. From the moment you and your guests arrive, you’ll feel the wonder of centuries of history blended with modern luxury. The majestic gardens, warm villa colors, and intricate artwork create a setting that needs very little additional decoration to shine.
