If you’ve ever dreamed of a destination wedding filled with romance, views of the Mediterranean, and timeless French charm, a wedding in France (especially along the French Riviera) is hard to beat! It’s one of those places that feels effortlessly elegant, where every corner looks like it belongs in a movie.

For Erin and Preston, it all began in Positano. I photographed their engagement photoshoot there, and a few months later, they reached out again.. But this time for their intimate wedding in Èze at the incredible Château de la Chèvre d’Or! I was truly honoured that they trusted me again to capture such an important chapter in their lives. Going from the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast to the charm of the French Riviera with them felt like something really special. The kind of full circle moment that reminds me how lucky I am to do what I do!
Thinking about a destination engagement session before your wedding? I would love to capture your story in a place that’s special to you!

Why the French Riviera Is Perfect for Your Destination Wedding
The French Riviera has this effortless charm that makes it a dream setting for a wedding in France. It’s elegant, yet relaxed. Luxurious, but never too polished. Between the turquoise water, the golden light, and the old-world charm of towns like Èze, Nice, and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, it’s hard to imagine a more romantic place to say “I do.”
For couples who want a destination that blends beauty, culture, and intimacy, the Riviera truly has it all. You can exchange vows on a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean, wander cobblestone streets for your portraits, and celebrate the night away under twinkling lights with your closest family and friends.
And the best part is that the French Riviera is as stunning in person as it is in photos! Every frame feels warm, bright, full of life and that’s exactly what I love to capture.

The Magic of Château de la Chèvre d’Or
Erin and Preston chose Château de la Chèvre d’Or, one of the most breathtaking wedding venues in the French Riviera. Perched high above the sea in the medieval village of Èze, the venue feels like a dream — surrounded by gardens, stone terraces, and endless blue views.
It’s perfect for intimate weddings, where every moment feels private and personal. The atmosphere is peaceful, the light is incredible, and the views are unlike anywhere else in the world.
Couples can easily turn their wedding destination into a full experience for their honeymoon— exploring nearby towns like Nice or Monaco, or extending their stay for a few days of relaxation along the coast. For guests, it’s not just a wedding — it’s a chance to enjoy the very best of France in one of its most enchanting settings.

When Is the Best Time for a French Riviera Wedding?
If you’re a couple looking or planning a wedding in France, timing makes all the difference. Late spring (around May and June) and early autumn (September to October) are some of the best months to tie the knot here. The weather is comfortably warm, the light is beautiful, and you’ll avoid the heavy summer crowds.
Summer (June through August) is the height of the Riviera season. Glamorous, vibrant, and full of energy but also the busiest and most expensive time to visit. For couples who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere without sacrificing the coastal charm, spring and fall are ideal. You’ll still get that golden sunlight, breathtaking sea views, and plenty of time outdoors, just with a little more peace and space to enjoy it all.
Evenings during these months are pleasantly mild, perfect for open-air dinners, dancing under the stars, and capturing those softly lit moments that make French Riviera weddings so special.

Planning an Intimate Wedding in France
One of my favorite parts about photographing a wedding in France is how personal it can feel. You don’t need hundreds of guests or a grand ballroom to make it unforgettable. The Riviera is full of hidden gardens, small terraces, and romantic spaces that are perfect for smaller celebrations.
Venues like Château de la Chèvre d’Or make it easy to combine beauty and privacy. You can have your ceremony overlooking the Mediterranean, then enjoy dinner surrounded by candles and views that seem to stretch forever. It’s the kind of day that feels natural, intentional, and deeply meaningful.

If you’re dreaming about a wedding that feels relaxed yet elegant, the French Riviera might be exactly what you’re looking for. Whether it’s an intimate elopement or a small destination celebration, there’s something about this region that captures romance in its purest form.
Erin and Preston’s day reminded me of that — how love and landscape come together so effortlessly here.
