A candlelit dinner under the Tuscan sky, a traditional millefoglie, fireworks to finish the night… Giovanna and Dean really knew how to celebrate!
Their wedding at Villa Corsini brought together so many things I love about photographing weddings in Italy. A beautiful historic setting, time spent outside, incredible food, and a celebration that carried on well into the evening.
I’m Andrea, an Italian wedding photographer born and raised on the Amalfi Coast. While the coast is home, I love getting the chance to explore other parts of Italy with my couples. And honestly, give me a wedding in the Tuscan countryside and I’m very happy!
Giovanna and Dean’s day was beautifully planned by I Do in Italy, and there was so much to photograph from beginning to end!

Why Get Married At Villa Corsini?
Just outside Florence, Villa Corsini gives you that classic Tuscany feeling from the moment you arrive. You have the historic villa, Italian gardens, countryside and plenty of beautiful spaces to use throughout the day. One of my favourite things about the venue is that you don’t have to go anywhere else.
You can get ready, celebrate, take your portraits, have dinner and dance into the night all in one place. It gives the day room to flow without constantly thinking about where everyone needs to go next. And from a photography point of view, there’s definitely no shortage of places to explore!

Giovanna and Dean’s Tuscany Wedding
As much as I love all the details of a wedding, I’m always looking for those little moments happening in between too. Giovanna getting ready with her mum, the emotional first look with her dad, and all the excitement with her bridesmaids. Those are the moments I love capturing just as much as the beautiful portraits!
With Giovanna and Dean, we had time to wander around the property for portraits without disappearing from their guests for too long. And their reception entrance? SO much fun! Everyone was waving their napkins in the air as the newlyweds made their way into the room. I absolutely love seeing guests get this excited!
Then, as the sun went down, everyone came together for a candlelit dinner outside. And what’s an Italian wedding without a delicious dessert? They had a traditional millefoglie made in front of their guests before the evening ended with fireworks over Villa Corsini.
Not a bad way to finish your wedding night! For more real weddings and little behind-the-scenes moments from the celebrations I photograph, you can follow along on my Instagram!

My Favourite Places to Take Photos
This is where the photographer in me gets excited because there are so many options without needing to leave the venue. The gardens are beautiful for couple portraits, especially when we want something relaxed and surrounded by greenery. Then you have the architecture of the villa when you want something a little more classic. But I also love finding the less obvious corners.
Sometimes my favourite photograph isn’t taken in the grandest part of a venue. It happens while we’re walking between locations or when the couple gets a few minutes alone before joining everyone again.
That’s why I like leaving a little room to explore rather than planning every photograph in advance. If you’re collecting ideas for your own Italy wedding, you can also find plenty more wedding photography and inspiration over on my Pinterest.

If you’d love to see more celebrations like Giovanna and Dean’s, take a look through my wedding photography portfolio for more love stories I’ve photographed across Italy.
Could This Be Your Tuscany Wedding Venue?
If you want the Tuscany experience without your wedding feeling overly formal, I think Villa Corsini has a really lovely balance.
It’s a great fit for couples who love historic Italian venues, beautiful gardens, outdoor dinners and celebrations where good food and time with their favourite people are a big part of the day. You can make it elegant without losing that relaxed Italian feeling that makes getting married here so much fun.
And if you’re planning your own wedding in Tuscany, I’d love to hear all about it! I’m Andrea, and I can’t wait to help you create and photograph a wedding in Italy that you’ll want to relive over and over again.
