Some weddings really do stay with you, and Adam and Cody’s is one I’ll never forget!
After losing so much in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, Adam and Cody had already been through so much together. But through it all, they never lost their love for one another or their hope for the future. They brought that love, resilience, and their closest people all the way to the Amalfi Coast for a wedding weekend I’ll always treasure.
And what a celebration it was! An Italian-themed welcome dinner, a vintage red Fiat, an emotional ceremony among ancient ruins, and a beautiful reception at Belmond Hotel Caruso.
I’m Andrea, an Italian wedding photographer born and raised on the Amalfi Coast. Getting to photograph their gay wedding in Italy, right here in the place I call home, meant so much to me.

An Italian Welcome Dinner at Trattoria da Lorenzo
Adam and Cody kicked off their wedding weekend with a welcome dinner at Trattoria da Lorenzo in Scala and everyone loved every little detail!
Red and white gingham tablecloths, tomato-inspired stationery, candles, and a live accordion player. It was such a fun way to bring a little Italian personality into their celebrations. They even got a vintage red Fiat for drive to the restaurant and of course we had to do some couple portraits. How could we not take advantage of that?!

I always encourage couples to make the most of their time in Italy, especially when their guests have travelled so far to celebrate with them.A welcome dinner is a lovely way to spend more time together before the wedding day. And from a photography perspective, it gives us a whole different part of your story to capture.

Getting Ready at Belmond Hotel Caruso in Ravello
The wedding day started at Belmond Hotel Caruso, one of Ravello’s most beautiful luxury wedding venues. With its historic architecture, gorgeous gardens, and incredible views over the Amalfi Coast, we couldn’t miss the chance to take some portraits around the property!
But one of my favourite moments happened before the ceremony, when Adam and Cody took some time away from everyone else to exchange their vows privately, just the two of them. It was such an emotional moment! No guests, no distractions, just the two of them sharing their promises before celebrating with everyone later that day.
These are the moments I love capturing most. The ones that aren’t necessarily part of the traditional wedding timeline but mean so much to the couple.

An Emotional Wedding Ceremony at Sant’Eustachio
Now, can we talk about this ceremony location?! Adam and Cody exchanged vows among the ancient ruins of Sant’Eustachio in Scala, and the setting was absolutely incredible.
The historic stone walls, flowing white drapery, and beautiful white flowers created such a striking contrast. I loved how they kept the styling simple while letting the ruins speak for themselves.
But what made this ceremony unforgettable wasn’t just the location. After everything Adam and Cody had been through, seeing them celebrate their love surrounded by so many people who cared about them was incredibly moving. The happy tears, the laughter, and the excitement as they walked back down the aisle together. These are the moments I love photographing most.
And for couples dreaming of a gay wedding in Italy, this is just one of the many incredible places where you can celebrate your love on the Amalfi Coast.

Celebrating at Belmond Hotel Caruso
After the ceremony, everyone headed back to Belmond Hotel Caruso to continue the celebrations. One of my favourite things about this wedding was how different each part of the weekend felt. The welcome dinner was fun and full of personality!
The ceremony was emotional, intimate and the reception brought everyone together to celebrate! That’s what I love about destination weddings. You don’t have to squeeze everything into a few hours. You can create a whole weekend of memories with your favourite people.

Every Love Story Deserves to Be Celebrated
Photographing Adam and Cody reminded me why I love what I do so much. Every couple has their own story, their own personalities, and their own way of celebrating. And I love getting to document all of it.
Whether you’re planning a gay wedding in Italy, an intimate elopement, or an engagement photoshoot during your trip to the Amalfi Coast, I’d love to be part of it.
I want every couple I photograph to feel comfortable being themselves in front of my camera. No expectations about what your wedding should look like, just the two of you celebrating in a way that feels right.
Adam and Cody, thank you for trusting me with your story. It will always have a special place in my heart.
And if you’re an LGBTQ+ couple dreaming of your own gay wedding or an engagement session somewhere beautiful, get in touch! I can’t wait to meet you, hear your story, and create photographs you’ll love looking back on for years to come.
